Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer?Volunteering is fun and rewarding. It could also help you learn new skills and gain valuable work experience. The MPS Society relies on volunteers for our events and conferences to assist in the care needed for children and vulnerable adults affected by MPS and Related Diseases. New volunteers are supported by an experienced volunteer. Our events and conferences are always very successful and great fun, as well as being hard work! Many of our previous volunteers come back each year as they find it to be such a worthwhile experience. All of our volunteers undertake training in moving and handling and are fully briefed prior to the event and receive a care plan for the child or vulnerable adults in their care. Volunteers should be 18 years or over and will need to provide two references and undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check. The MPS Society makes the arrangements for volunteers’ accommodation and meals during their time as a volunteer. Volunteers are able to claim reimbursement of travel expenses from the MPS Society.
